Lillie Mae
Lillie Mae was a code red – picked up as a stray, heartworm positive. One look at that scared skinny dog I knew I needed to get her. She was so scared and took a lot of coaxing and treats for her to feel comfortable with us. We have become best friends and she is my companion. I live alone and feel safe with her here.
I noticed in October what I thought was a fatty tumor on her leg. I thought I would get her in for a check before Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, I fell and dislocated my shoulder and fractured my humerous. By the time I was able to get her to the vet, it had gotten bigger. Once I got the diagnosis, I was heartbroken and said I would do whatever to get her treated. Once the tumor was removed at VSNT, Dr. LaRue told me the cost and gave me the info on Dogslife. I feel so blessed and thankful for your organization. I am overwhelmed with gratitude.
I cannot thank Dogslife enough for this wonderful gift they give to our fur babies. It saddens me to think of all the animals on their own that are sick. Lillie and I want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this grant. It means so much to me to be able to receive this grant, and Lillie Mae too!
