Dogslife Breakfast Pawty 2021

Dogslife had their first annual Breakfast Pawty on Saturday, November 13, 2021! The event was held at Hotel Zaza in Dallas and was emceed by former Dallas Cowboy's Cheerleader and Dancing with the Stars contestant, Melissa Rycroft Strickland.

The event began with opening remarks from Matt Stone, Dogslife Founder and Board Chair. He gave a warm welcome and thank you to everyone in attendance, which was followed by a short message from Dogslife Executive Director, Gina Parker, and an award presentation to honoree Curt Boisfontaine.

Up next, the audience heard from a panel of former Dogslife grant recipients: Matt Johnston and Caitlin Watson, owners of grant recipients Lula and Sydney, respectively. Both dogs were awarded treatment grants after been diagnosed with osteosarcoma. Matt and Caitlin emotionally recanted their personal experiences with canine cancer to the audience, including how much it meant to each of them to receive a Dogslife grant to pay for treatment they otherwise would not have been able to afford. There were very few dry eyes left in the room, but we at Dogslife were reminded how grateful we are to be able to provide families more time together.

The event went on to included a raffle of several goodie baskets provided by generous, local businesses and sponsors, as well as a live auction of amazing packages, including a Dallas staycation, weekend trip to an East Texas lake and cabin, and a $5,000 Disney vacation! Our auctioneer, Doug Bradford, kept the audience laughing (and, of course, bidding!)… even some of our youngest attendees got in on the action!

It takes a village, and this event could not have taken place without our lead sponsor, Sandy Scoggins, and our table sponsors, Clear Technologies, Stone Woodworks, Dr. Erin Tate, Embark, and Meridian Veterinary Real Estate. Dogslife would like to thank each of you for your generous support!

We would also like to thank everyone who attended and the volunteers who gave so generously of their time on a Saturday morning. Because of you, we raised over $50,000! Your incredible support will allow us to provide many more Texas dogs and their families grants to alleviate the burden of canine cancer treatment. With that, that's a wrap on the first annual Breakfast Pawty! Until next year...
