Ruby doo
My pup is the best girl I could have ever found. She was originally owned by a friend of mine that was in the military and was transferred. She was over the height and weight limit for them to take her so he reached out to me knowing I loved dogs. I went to pick her up in a snow storm and we have never looked back. She greets me in the morning before our breakfast, then lays down till I’m ready to go out with her to do the morning business. She has super good manners around all dogs and cats and I’ve referred to her as a grandma to the pups she sees around town.
My Ruby loves to bird watch and people watch from a good shady spot. She has yet to not try greet everybody cause she don’t want to miss someone and make them feel bad.
My Ruby means the world to me. She has been with me through a lot of life’s journey. She always has a smile on her face and a wag on her tail. She has accompanied me on many trips. I take her to dq to get a pup cup from time to time which she loves. It comes with a milk bone on top. We try to walk around 2.5 miles or more a day before the surgery. Now we limit our time in the heat but she is wanting to sprint now so I feel she is feeling lots better now the leg is gone and she’s on the mend.
The way this journey started was Ruby started limping so for two weeks I thought she had hurt her leg and I was massaging it and stretching it but it didn’t seem to get better. The morning I took her to the vet she would not put any weight on it at all. I assumed she had sprained it or at worse broke it but never would I have thought cancer. It was total shock. They recommended ADC as the best choice to help my girl so we went for consultation and Ruby seemed to be comfortable with the staff and especially Dr. Donnelly. She sat on floor with Ruby and assessed her and my needs while explaining options and avenues I could take. She is the one who told me about Dogslife and helped me with documentation. She has been a great asset in this journey as have all the people at Dogslife who have helped me fill out the needed documentation to achieve the hill of chemo treatment for my pup.
This grant means the world to me. I was trying figure out how I was going to pay this because I wanted give Ruby the best chance at full recovery and an awesome pain free life. This grant has gave me peace and comfort knowing she will get the best care and I can focus on her instead of finding ways to pay for it. This organization is awesome to provide this service to me and my pup. Ruby means the world to me but it’s nice to know others value her life like I go. Thanks again for all the help getting to this point and for granting my baby girl this privilege to get her chemo and not have the financial burden on me. I can’t express enough how thankful me and Ruby are.
